6 months...oh my!

Baby girl you have reached the half year mark!

(First shower)

My precious and most adorable baby Annabelle.
This half a year just absolutely flew by. This month became more emotional for me as your mama.
Watching all that you have accomplished this month has taken me by surprise.
I really did not expect to have so many feelings towards such small things.
Your baby socks now fit you. This may be nothing but annoying to you, since every chance you get you pull your socks off and throw them as far as you can, but to me this was the opening of the flood gates. I realized I had so many guards up holding in emotions for you. Consistently worried for your well being, I supposed to forgot to stop and grasp all your changes each day. For some reason your tiny socks symbolized all the growth that has been occurring and I let myself cry. Couldn't stop myself any longer.
I cried for all the moments I knew I probably already forgot and for all the moments that I was thankful to capture in my mind forever.
You are stunning, Annabelle. You take my breath away each day with your smile and you stop strangers mid walk with your charm. A day does not go by that I am not utterly amazed that something as beautiful as you can be created and loved by such an amazing God.
Truly, I am so grateful to be your mother.

This month has been quite busy. You finally were able to meet your buddy Adalyn. She was born the day after you and her Mommy and Daddy are such wonderful friends of ours. You two hit it off pretty well, and just looked absolutely priceless in your matching tutus. Don't worry, she will be back soon to come visit again.
We also went to your first house party to celebrate Sandra's birthday and thankfully survived the evening while taking a nice nap in your moby wrap.

You celebrated your first television appearance this month on Fox News San Diego.
In support of Babies In Bloom and along with other babies from our Lactation Lounge Support Group we were there to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week.
You LOVED the cameras and all of the attention and from how much they showed you on camera I'm guessing they liked you a lot too.

We also survived our month of health issues with your mama. A nice 7 weeks case of Mastitis will slow any good breast feeder down. You have been such a champ through all the doctors appointments and full week of bottled milk. You are such a trooper.

(Feeding yourself some cereal)

We started you on solid foods about a week before you hit the 6 months mark.
You love your squash, but I'm not that surprised since your Dad and I eat butternut squash a lot during the year. You liked the squash mashed in with some rice cereal the most. You've just had some carrots and seem to be quite fond of those as well.

Even though you have been rolling for some time now, we were quite in shock to see you start to creep your way around the house.
You push with your right toes and pull with both arms. This is your current transportation mode of choice.
Yes, this tires you out pretty quickly and leads to lots of grunt noises with some whines.
You hang out rocking on your knees and laugh and laugh...especially at the cat. He still keeps your attention throughout the day.

You are still eating about 5 times a day.
You still wake up close to 7 am and go to bed between 7:45 and 8:30 pm.
You are still on 3 naps a day...2 normal naps and 1 cat nap in the early evening.
You love all of your toys and have started to take to a paci all of a sudden at 5.5 months.
You give lots of hugs now, especially when you are sleepy.
Getting harder to hold you since you are so wiggly and so determined to leave arms if you see something that distracts you.
You squeal, yap, click your tongue and are starting to give funny noises with your tongue.
